you like me, you really like me

dottie_2004_finalist.gifBadmouth has once again been selected as a finalist for the Dottie Awards recognizing the best web sites in Northen California. This is the Seventh Annual Dottie Awards, and Badmoth is nominated in the “Weird and Humorous” category.

I won the Dottie in this category last year, and I’m not lying when I say it’s the best award I have ever recieved. Some things to note:

  • Last year’s award show was the 2002 Dotties. This year’s is the 2004 Dotties. We’re missing a year somehow.
  • They reduced the number of finalists from five to three. So I’m up against Rob Cockerham’s sublime Cockeyed and the boys over at Suckramento.
  • Rob Berry’s cooler-than-cool site RetroCrush continues to be snubbed by the Dottie voters for some unfathomable reason.
  • I am not a judge this year. The past few years, I’ve helped judge the event. Although I didn’t get to judge my own category, it probably didn’t look good to be introduced as a judge then recieve an award.

At any rate, I am honored to be nominated, and I hope I win. As a finalist, Badmouth also has a chance at the People’s Choice Award. So please click on this link and vote for Badmouth. You’ll feel good about yourself afterwards.

Thanks everyone, and I’ll see you at the Dotties.

I just don’t understand it. I’ve been carrying around almost 40 extra pounds on my boobs and belly for like two months now. I should have the legs and thighs of an Olympic athlete. Shockingly, I do not. This, I feel, is completely unfair. [Link]

Baby Daddy is still in town after all. Piss fuck. I have to admit it was the most civil meeting we’ve had. I got a myspace out of the blue: I’ve got myself sorted a bit. I regret being MIA, but I’m not running from this either much as it may seem that way. Get in touch if you’d like ... [Link]

Substantively, the first McCain-Obama debate was a wash. Anti-intellectual conservatives can bitch and moan about how Obama sounded like he was full of “book learnin’” while McCain had experience — but that’s only going to fly for the faithful. Similarly, Obama just hasn’t been to the places or had the experiences McCain has had. Even if you feel McCain has ... [Link]

The John McCain “suspend your campaign in order to win” strategy is going on right as this is being typed, so there are plenty of theories as to what’s really going on. My initial thought was that he’s trying to duck the debate. It was supposed to be about foreign policy, but it’s inevitable that the economic crisis would take ... [Link]

The baby belly has presented a new obstacle: I can’t keep my pants up or my shirts down. Never the twain shall meet. No closure. [Link]
