I love Young Frankenstein & The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes' Smarter Brother (although that one is all Wilder's doing).

I'm sure evrybody knows Richard Pryor co-wrote Blazing Saddles, which I agree is the funniest Mel Brooks movie, and was supposed to star in it. Has anyone else always wondered what might have been?

Rouver -- The musical is quite entertaining on stage, and it was a very worthwhile project to put it on Broadway. Hearing "Springtime for Hitler" live is really funny. But why compete with the original as a film?

Marcotte: "Young Frankenstein" is pretty freakin' high-larious, but still ... I know where you live. You, your woman and child -- get ready.

"Blazing Saddles—This is Brooks’ funniest movie, and I’ll fight any man, woman or child who says otherwise."

I hate to argue. No, wait--I love to argue. I like both the original The Producers and Young Frankenstein more.

But all three are classics.

"Nathan Lane and Broderick are not Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder, who are perfect in the original."

That's all I needed to hear.

I didn't even know they'd made The Producers into a play, but one could see how it would lend itself to being a stage production quite easily.

When I saw the previews, for the life of me I couldn't figure out why Hollywood felt the need to try improve upon the original.
