Why do people waste their time on fark? I have never seen such a hypocritical bunch of ignorant fools than the censor-happy dolts who inhabit fark. People like Drew bitch whine and moan about the media, but make ass-loads of money doing the EXACT same thing that they complain about.

I would never do this, but I am so pissed off at the horrible censorship at Fark I want to cut Drew’s tongue out so bad - SO BAD, so he can see what it feels like. This isn’t about trolling, crap flooding, or breaking the rules, this is about dangerous thought policing going on there. This article shows that no matter how much things change, they always remain the same. Comments from 2003 complaining about the site are comments still being made complaining about the site in the exact same way. It just becomes clear that Fark.com sold out a LONG time ago.

Even worse, it’s so sad that it took until 2007 before someone even bothered to document the proof of Fark abuse and Shadowbans. http://ergh.org/farkdeceit/

Fark is all about arguing for the sake of arguing so every thread devolves into semantics. A recent thread about Filesharing and the RIAA contained the exact same “You people are stealing!” comments you might have read five years ago. Why? Not because the poster actually cares but because someone will always bite that bait.

The mods pick trolling headlines to encourage the highest number of pageviews. This is where the notion of a left/right wing slant comes from. They just pick whatever will provoke the biggest reaction now.

I wasn’t banned from Fark, but I got pretty sick of getting “time-outs” courtesy of power-mad moderators. Some of these time-outs were for really stupid and trivial things.

So I just left.

I have no issues with Drew…it’s just that there needs to be some accountability. Appoint moderators who will actually be FAIR. Because most of those time-outs I got just were not fair–I hadn’t posted anything in violation of the rules!

I can understand the power-tripping. I was just made a moderator of a Christian forum, and it’s VERY tempting to start editing or deleting things you don’t like!
