contest: War of the Worlds

June 20th, 2005 by John Marcotte

War of the Worlds contestAlright, kids. It’s time for the badmouth.net War of the Worlds contest! War of the Worlds, which reteams Mega Director Steven Spielberg and Operating Thetan Tom Cruise, looks like it will be one of the bigget blockbusters of the summer. Two lucky Badmouth readers will recieve:

  • One War of the Worlds baseball cap
  • One War of the Worlds T-shirt (Size Large)
  • And one anti-alien-mind-control beanie

The hats are one size fits all — which is how God intended hats to be. The shirts fit large people. If you are larger than large, you have my sympathy — I can’t fit into them either.

Aluminum-Foil BeanieThe beanie is made from 100% high-grade aluminum-foil — reflective side out. It adjusts to fit any size head and protects the wearer from both alien mind-control rays, and engrams sent by the evil galactic overlord Xenu.

Warning: Beanie cannot prevent user from making an ass of himself on Oprah, change his sexual orientation or cure his acquaintance’s post-partum depression.

That’s what vitamins are for.

WOW hatContest Is Over.

I will ship these prizes anywhere in the United States of America. I’m not going to ship anywhere that requires me to fill out a customs form. The contest ends at midnight on July 31st. The winners will be announced on August 1st. As always, I personally guarantee no spam will come to you as a result of entering this contest, so help me God.

I’ve got to say, I’m super-confused about the Rev. Jeremiah Wright dust-up. I’m saying this stuff through an Obama-colored lens, I’ll admit — but in no particular order: Obama didn’t say any of this stuff, his preacher did. Compare and contrast this with the Bosnian sniper fire incident that Hillary Clinton seems to have gotten away with. Since when does ... [Link]

Since Best Buy changed their Reward Zone program for the worse, I’ve been shopping at Amazon.com a lot more. Since I’m cheap, I like to use their free shipping option when I can, which utilizes the United States Postal Service as a carrier. I don’t know if you’ve ever tried tracking a package at the USPS site, but I’ve found ... [Link]

Take a look at the last item in this image, and you’ll see one of my complaints about the state of the news media in the U.S. A long time ago, in a Midwest city far, far, away, I was a journalist of sorts. I worked at a real daily newspaper, writing and editing real news stories. Things were starting ... [Link]

You Are My Baby Daddy In week seven, I ran into Baby Daddy at his work. I knew I would see him at some point; it’s hard to avoid a movie theater when you like the movies. I felt awkward. He didn’t notice. And I thought, and obsessed, and finally decided that he had a right to know. It seemed ... [Link]
